| Our travel industry is going
through very dramatic changes. While these changes were
taking place before last fall, the attacks of September 11th
have forced airlines and airports to re-evaluate all aspects
of passenger travel. The challenge before the industry is
add more security to airports and prepare for a return to
growth in passenger traffic.
With the addition of the skills and products of Automatic
Systems (who joined IER Group in 2002), IER is very well
placed to provide solutions to this challenge. IER can
combine traditional ATB products with automatic gates to
offer secure access solutions and improved passenger
processing for airports. We have already seen great interest
in adding automatic gates to security check-points.
Automatic gates for plane boarding is another trend
developing among several airlines. IER is the only airport
automation company that can offer its customers a smooth
transition from their current technology to these exciting
new ideas.
Border control applications are another important market
for IER's access products in airports. While all nations are
interested in improving security, they cannot afford to do
this by restricting the legal flow of goods and people.
Products like those of IER-Automatic Systems will be an
important addition to the new border-crossing experience
being created by this need.
